About Us

The Chamber

The notion for the establishment of the Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry was conceived by Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG) following the successful hosting of the 1st Trade Fair in Ikorodu Division in April 2000 tagged “Ikorodu Division Expo 2000”. The instrument used by the Group to achieve the remarkable feat was the establishment of Ikorodu Division Industrial and Investment Promotion Council (IDIIPC) which comprised notable, pro-active, business-oriented and clairvoyant personalities who were, individually and collectively, convinced that the rapid development of the socio-economic potentials of Ikorodu Division was feasible and that member companies stood the chance to gain in the process of Lagos evolving as a mega city.

INCORPORATION
The Chamber (ICCI) was incorporated in 2011 as a private, non-profit-making organization of businessmen and professionals, Limited by Guarantee (LTD/GTE), under the company and Allied Matters Act 1990.

POSER
What would you do individually if for example?

The rates/tariff is increased, or we suddenly find our rates doubled overnight;

There is no commensurate supply for the value paid for electricity and water and we want to avoid our business operations from being in a state of coma; ee (LTD/GTE), under the company and Allied Matters Act 1990.

The access road to our business community is in disrepair and therefore killing our business;

We are continually being charged for the services we are not receiving;

We can provide valuable services to the business community as well as to the local government but cannot get our feet in the door the procurement officer has a “preferred suppliers” who get the jobs at double our tendered price

The property next door has been authorized to trade as a brothel/dump site operation that is likely to adversely affect our business; .

We have found an investor who is willing to pump millions into the economy but we cannot get the project off the ground even though we comply in all respect, we cannot get approval from the local authorities to proceed;

We have submitted plans for our development though we are ready to build but cannot get our plans to move through the approval process.

These are among the various causes that the chamber is prepared to the collectively champion and are enjoined to give your supports to the chamber.
